Blame it on the hormones, the lack of sleep, or the fact that my body still doesn’t feel like my own—but I got hit with the postpartum uglies this week. Maybe no one else notices, but I do, and that’s all that matters. When I’m feeling “normal,” this usually happens right before my period—so all signs point to hormones.
This is my third time going through postpartum, so I know from experience that this is completely normal and that it won’t last forever. I will feel like myself again! But that doesn’t take away from how tough it is to see changes in my body and not fully recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror.
Here are some things I’m doing to help pull myself out of the spiral.
