Maternity Photos by Jessica Malafouris
I’m so glad I was connected with Jessica through my friend Nicole Berrie. I wasn’t planning on doing maternity photos, but Jessica happened to be in NYC at the perfect time, so I went for it. I’m not into anything too posed or staged—I prefer a more editorial vibe—and she totally delivered.
The sparkly crop top was her idea, and I was a little hesitant at first, but it ended up being just the right amount of glam against the NYC concrete backdrop. I’ll treasure these photos forever and feel so lucky to have them.
Madewell Suede Micro Bucket Tote
This was gifted to me, and I honestly can’t stop wearing it. At $118 and in the perfect shade of brown, it’s hard not to love. Sometimes, as a mom, you just need an easy crossbody bag that goes with everything and isn’t too precious to actually use. It fits just the right amount and will hold me over… until I finally score my dream Mini Kelly one day.
It doubles as both storage and a sanitizer, and as an NYC family, we need all the storage we can get. To be honest, I haven’t used it yet—it’s currently just sitting on our kitchen counter. I’m planning to break it in next week when I take a day to sanitize all the bottles and breastfeeding parts before his arrival. That said, I already love the way it looks. I think it’ll help keep the counter looking less cluttered, even with all the bottles out.
This has been my go-to bump oil for the final stretch of my pregnancy, and it’s been great. I do believe stretch marks are hereditary, but regardless, it’s so important to keep our lady bumps oiled up! The Osea Oil has been a dream—not overly greasy at all. I use it all over my bump, boobs, butt, and thighs, and the bottle has lasted me a couple of weeks. Their products are always top-notch, and I already plan to grab another bottle for postpartum.
On a separate note (but since we’re talking about oil), has anyone tried castor oil in their belly button before bed? I keep seeing it all over TikTok, and I can’t wait to give it a try once I’m on the other side of this pregnancy.
Labor prep has officially started! No, this won’t put you into labor—it’s more about toning or “working out” your uterus to (hopefully) make delivery a little smoother. I love giving birth, so if there’s anything that might make the experience even more enjoyable, I’m all for it!
I’m aiming for 2-3 cups of tea a day, and if I feel extra crampy, I’ll dial it back. My second birth was two hours—start of labor to baby in my arms—and I’m manifesting that same energy for my third! Give me all the tea!!!*Always check with your OB or midwife before starting anything new.
Can I tell you a secret about postpartum? Having a cute pajama collection will make you feel so much better, especially during those first 6 weeks. I learned this pretty quickly after having my first.
I don’t know why it took me so long to try Cozyland, but wow—they are wonderful. Everything from the fit to the fabric is absolute perfection. Dare I say, I feel like a cool girl every time I put them on? I can’t wait to live in them during my 6 weeks of newborn bubble home life!
Hermes Fuzzy Orans
I placed this order a couple of months ago, and they finally arrived. It felt only right to have one final splurge at my place of worship before the baby comes. My plan is to wear them as slippers until the weather warms up.
At this stage of pregnancy, getting dressed the way I want to just isn’t possible, so I’m clinging to anything that makes me feel a little more put together. I’ve built quite the collection of fuzzy Orans, and I don’t think I’ll be stopping anytime soon!
Cartier Baignoire Watch
I know I keep posting this watch, but I can’t stop thinking about it. My husband and I had a kid-free day uptown—shopping, dating, just enjoying time together—and I had no idea what I wanted for my push present. Naturally, a trip to Cartier to try on watches felt like the perfect plan.
Originally, I had my eye on the Baignoire with the bangle or the Panthère, but then the sales associate pulled out this one, and I gasped. The other two didn’t even compare. I love the strap (which can easily be swapped out) and the diamonds on the face that just take it to the next level.
I think I’m slowly but surely becoming a watch girl.
